Melbourne Seminar and Exhibition event gallery. From 14th and 20th of September 2012, BaA had weeklong Festival of Bangladeshi Architecture spanning in 3 cities in Australia with biggest number of Architects from Bangladesh. Thanks to Institute of Architects Bangladesh(IAB), Bangladesh High Commission Canberra, Australian Institute of Architects NSW and VIC chapter, ARCASIA for helping us realise the event and of course inspiring members in BaA. Here are some images of those amazing moments in Melbourne. More images(Sydney and Canberra) are under events menu and Melbourne programs.

Program out come:
Many days has gone to prepare for the event, many Architects have come to the week-long event taking a brief break in their highly important timeline- the question comes in front what have we achieved and what is it that we can achieve. There were 4 fundamental points raised in that event by the BaA president and it has been followed up and still being followed up by senior members and the new committee of BaA led by Sheikh Lana and Tanu Murang after the event. The 4 main points put forward for all Australian Architects, IAB and the academics to consider are:
1. BaA would request Australian Architects to consider to offer short-term internship program for Bangladeshi young Architects living/studying in Australia;
2. IAB to review its constitution to allow members of overseas organisations like BaA to become members or to continue their memberships with IAB;
3. Academics from Bangladesh and Australia to discuss ways to offer student exchange programs to support graduates from both countries to achieve required accreditation; and finally to Bangladesh Government:
4. To create opportunity for BaA as a group to contribute pro-bono works in Bangladesh.

LEAF award winner Architect Rafiq Azam all ready announced “RAFIQ AZAM TRAVEL BURSARY” for the students of Sydney University, University of NSW and Melbourne University.
BaA members are now heavily in negotiation with University representatives and planning in that regard. Basically 2 students for the travel scholarship to Dhaka, Bangladesh every year under this arrangements.
Friday 14th to Thursday 20th was absolute chalkablock schedule for BaA in 2012. With enthusiastic presence of so many young Architects from Bangladesh, it was nothing short of biggest architects convention coming from so many countries.
